Bonding Bees Review
Ever since my daughter was born, it has been difficult to make the time to go on a date with my husband. I feel like most of the time we're both so tired by the end of the day that sitting on the couch and zoning out is all we want to do. Also, going on a date now a days is a lot harder than it used to be. It requires a babysitter and a bit more planning. So when I was presented with the opportunity to review the first Bonding Bees date night subscription box, I was ecstatic!
Before I get into the contents of the box and my review I wanted to share a bit about Bonding Bees first. It's a monthly subscription box that includes everything you need to have a fun and memorable date night at home. Each month has a specific theme and includes activities such as crafts, games, recipes, relationship building and challenge exercises, and desserts. Bonding Bees gives you and your significant other something to look forward to, without the stressful planning. Month to month subscriptions are $34.25/month, 3 months prepaid at $30.82/month or 6 months prepaid at $27.74/month.
Now my review. This month's theme was "A Night In Paris, The city of Love." The key focus of this theme was communication. The first thing my husband and I did was get the chocolate fondue setup. We also started up the playlist on Spotify that included artists like, Ed Sheeran and Nora Jones. The free playlist on Spotify was great to set the mood and the mini fondue set was adorable and the treats were very yummy!
Next we did the word match. Ok, we TRIED to do the word match. You have to match the French word to the English word and practice saying them out loud. Neither of us know any French, so it was hilarious to say the least! So grateful it came with a key so we were able to figure it out and learn some French words. "Tu es belle" means "you are beautiful" in French! The next activity we did was the challenge of the month, which was "The 5 Love Languages". On the back of the challenge of the month card there are descriptions of each love language and we had to guess which ones we were. Then we went to www.5lovelanguages.com and took a quiz to learn what our love languages actually are. Surprisingly, we both guessed correctly! My love language is "Acts of Service" and my husband's is "Quality Time". After you take the quiz and learn your love language, they send you an email that goes into more detail about what your love language means. We had so much fun learning about each other's love languages, I would highly recommend taking the quiz! This box also contained a recipe for crepes, which in french means pancake. They sound delicious but we haven't made them yet! Also, that cute little magnet of our family pictured below was the bonus item. It was so thoughtful and we love it!
This next activity was probably my favorite, aside from the chocolate fondue of course! The box came with two canvasses, some paint and paint brushes. The idea was to work together and communicate so that both of our paintings made one big picture. We had so much fun talking and laughing through our paintings; trying to decide what to paint and how we were going to make them come together! I think this activity is what really made this date memorable! Below on the left were some sample paintings and on the right is our finished piece which is currently on display in our family room!
We had so much fun doing all of the activities in our Bonding Bees box! I would highly recommend Bonding Bees to any and all couples who are looking for a memorable yet stress free date!
